Position Summary:

Santa Marta, a premier faith-based Life Plan Community, is seeking a visionary Director of Dining Services to lead and elevate our dining experience. This role oversees all culinary operations, including menu planning, food preparation, staff leadership, and resident satisfaction. The ideal candidate blends culinary expertise with a passion for hospitality, ensuring delicious, nutritious, and visually appealing meals are served with excellence and care.

  

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Create and execute a forward-looking dining program that enhances Santa Marta’s reputation as a leader in senior living. 
  • Lead and manage all aspects of dining services, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing.
  • Develop and implement long-term goals for food service operations aligned with Santa Marta’s mission and resident-centered philosophy.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards (Health Department, KDADs, CMS, etc.).

Operational Management:

  • Oversee menu planning and food preparation to ensure quality, variety, and nutritional value.
  • Manage purchasing, inventory control, and vendor relationships to meet budget and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment.
  • Develop and launch robust internal catering program to enrich resident and guest experiences.

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate culinary and dining staff.
  • Foster a culture of hospitality, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

Resident Experience:

  • Partner with residents and committees to gather feedback and improve service.
  • Host special events, themed meals, and holiday celebrations to enhance community life.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service and satisfaction across all care levels.

Budget & Compliance:

  • Develop and manage department budget, including labor and food costs.
  • Ensure adherence to all sanitation, safety, and dietary regulations and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with clinical teams for therapeutic and modified diets.

   

Requirements

  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in food service management, preferably in senior living or healthcare.
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or ServSafe Manager Certification preferred.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead a diverse team in a fast-paced, resident-focused environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and dietary requirements for older adults in a senior living setting.
