Cheyenne County Village is a non-profit, senior living campus. CCV offers independent living (9 units), assisted living (10 apts), and skilled nursing (30 bed). The Administrator is supported by dedicated staff, a strong volunteer board of directors, county financial support, and Grace Team Services for management services. We are looking for a person interested in continuing the success of this long standing community. We would welcome applicants that are not yet, but interested in becoming licensed as well. (Wage lower until become licensed.)

Reporting Relationship: Regional Executive Director

Primary Accountabilities:

Plans and directs all day-to-day operations in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, laws and regulations to ensure the highest degree of quality care is provided to the elders we serve.

Major Duties:

  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, and evaluates programs, activities, and services.
  • Supervises all department employees including: hiring, orienting, training, conducting performance evaluations, and providing counseling and discipline; coordinating and approving time off; and directing and managing the workflow of the departments, all within community standards and guidelines
  • Assists with the development of the organizational structure and articulates the roles of department heads within that structure.
  • Interprets the health services standards and guidelines, federal regulations, and state regulations to employees, elders (residents), family members, visitors, government agencies, etc. as required and ensure they are followed.
  • Represents the location both internally and externally; including government agencies, third party vendors, and the general population. Works harmoniously with the community’s other department managers concerning level of care transitions and general communication as well as all other interactions that promote an efficient and effective overall community operation.
  • Assists with and development and oversight of the budget. Monitors and adjusts expenses based on census/revenue to control cost and ensure a positive bottom line. Communicates monthly budget and financial outcomes to department heads and trains/assists them in tracking and controlling costs to ensure per patient day expenses are at or below budget.
  • Ensures that an adequate number of appropriately trained professional and auxiliary employees are on duty at all times to meet the needs of the residents.
  • Maintains an excellent working relationship with the local medical profession and other health related organizations through formal working and transfer agreements.
  • Abides by established policies including maintaining confidentiality as appropriate.
  • Practices and observes all safety and loss prevention programs.
  • Plans, facilitates, and participates in in-service training programs.
  • Works some weekend and evening hours, as needed
  • Supports the Mission and Values of the community.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree from an accredited college/university in health care/business administration or related field (or ability to obtain in short time frame)
  • Three to five years’ experience as an Administrator preferred
  • Valid license as a Nursing Home Administrator in the state of Kansas (or willingness to obtain in short time frame)
  • Language Ability:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking the primary language of the Residents.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Cognitive Demands:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to analyze information, problems, situations, practices and procedures to accomplish defining the problem or objective, identifying relevant factors or concerns, identifying patterns, formulating logical and objective conclusions, and recognizing alternatives and their implications.
  • Computer Skills:
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Familiar with software applications for submission of MDS, etc.
  • Ability to respond to computerized logs and notification of location of Resident calls.
  • Competencies:
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state regulations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as exceptional customer service skills
  • Effective interviewing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively manage conflict resolution
  • Detail oriented and excellent organizational and follow-through skills

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard at a moderate skill level.
  • Ability to read computer screens and email, mail and talk on the phone.
  • Ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Professional and deadline-oriented environment in a residential setting.
  • Interaction with older adults with varying levels of ability.
  • Team environment.
  • Continuous exposure to residents who are ill and confused
  • Possible exposure to infections, diseases, and bloodborne pathogens.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
