Job Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for the General Leger of Lakeview Village, the collection and records related to governmental areas such as Medicare and Medicaid, and auditors and consultants.
  • Responsible for the annual budget and the capital budget, from preparation to successful operation.
  • Develops and implements formal financial plans, budgets, and long-range plans for facility services.
  • Prepares and presents all financial reports to the Chief Executive Officer, presents monthly reports to the Board of Directors Finance Committee.
  • Ensures the timely presentation of all financial information required by Lakeview’s banks, investment operations, and bond holders.
  • Ensures the safe-keeping of all financial records, including all subsidiary corporations of Lakeview Village, Inc.
  • Effectively delegates tasks by setting clear expectations and following up.
  • Attends meetings as directed by the Chief Executive Officer, including but not limited to: Board Committee meetings, staff meetings, Resident meetings, and Resident Council meetings.
  • Creates, role-models, and maintains a professional, team-oriented setting among staff, residents, families, and guests. Acts as a coach or mentor to communicate these values as needed.
  • Ensures visibility and accessibility to residents, families, and staff who wish to express concerns or exchange ideas.
  • Provides vision and leadership to the staff at Lakeview by conceptualizing the “big picture” of current and future operations, and how this relates to individual employees.
  • Ensures that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
  • Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, other departments within the facility, and off-campus contacts to ensure that departmental programs can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the facility and residents.
  • Provides executive representation, reports, information, and services to internal and external business contacts as directed by the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Ensures that Residents’ Rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights, including the right to express grievances are followed.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Handles stress well, gets along with others in the workplace, maintains acceptable standards of conduct.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and/or a Master of Business Administration.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials are preferred but not required.
  • Must have a minimum of five successful years of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Must possess sound mathematical skills, including the ability to manipulate data and perform calculations of varying difficulty.
  • Must be able to exercise creative problem-solving skills and utilize abstract thinking skills when duties require these skills.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Information Systems as they apply to the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Demonstrates good communications skills, including but not limited to effective reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills, with a fluent understanding of English. 
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks appropriately, and exercise sound judgement where procedures cannot be standardized.
  • Demonstrates both precision and accuracy in the completion of duties each day.
  • Possesses an empathetic approach to the elderly.
  • Able to work in a team setting with residents, relatives, staff, and others.
